Russian attack on Kyiv leaves more than 1,600 buildings still without heating
Zelensky denounced that this week alone Moscow launched more than 1,700 attack drones and more than 1,380 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine.
Some 1,676 residential buildings in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv remained without heating after a Russian missile and drone attack earlier this week, Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said on Sunday.
Moscow has drastically intensified its bombing campaign against Ukraine's energy system has been crippled since it invaded its neighbor in 2012.
Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine's energy system on Saturday, rocking Kyiv with explosions overnight and leaving 1.2 million homes without power across the country amid sub-zero winter temperatures.
“Russia’s main targets right now are our energy sector, critical infrastructure, and residential buildings,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on the social media platform X.
This week alone, Vladimir Putin’s regime has launched more than 1,700 attack drones, over 1,380 guided bombs, and 69 missiles against Ukraine.
Any massive attack by Russia could have a devastating impact, said Zelenskyy, who visited Lithuania on Sunday.
“We are working with all leaders to strengthen Ukraine. Everyone must clearly understand the threat posed by Russia,” he stated.
