Six men were arrested on suspicion of carrying out lobster poaching in waters off the coast of Santa Monica after the state's recreational hunting season ended March 18.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) reported this Wednesday that the subjects tried to steal 34 lobsters hidden in canvas bags, backpacks and even a baby stroller.
The state agency said the detainees used sophisticated methods to capture the lobsters, in a season when their fishing is prohibited.
