Stephany Abasali denounces irregularities in Miss Universe Venezuela
The beauty queen exposed the reality behind her time in the Miss Venezuela pageant and the obstacles that her own organization allegedly placed in her way
A new chapter has begun in the Miss Universe drama; Now in its Venezuelan edition, after the 2025 pageant representative, Stephany Abasali, revealed the obstacles she faced due to the organization during her preparation for the international competition in Thailand. The wave of revelations came during her appearance on the podcast of her compatriot Rodner Figueroa. In the conversation, the beauty queen broke her silence about the treatment, which she described as "hostile," received from the national organization, directly pointing the finger at the current director, Nina Sicilia. According to the young woman, from the very first day of her reign, she experienced several slights from the directors. These ranged from ignoring her "good mornings" to limiting the use of her Miss Universe Venezuela sash and crown because "the director wouldn't allow anyone to outshine her," Abasali stated. Visibly affected, the second runner-up of Miss Universe 2025 confessed that the situation reached the point where she felt they were trying to "make her life impossible" and "break her will" within her national organization. However, the conflicts weren't limited to the treatment and management of her reign, as Stephany Abasali also denounced a serious lack of financial support during her training and participation in the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand. Despite these obstacles in her preparation, the model decided to continue her reign to represent her country, Venezuela, with dignity: "It was something that affected the workers themselves, the staff, the personnel," she emphasized. Stephany Abasali concluded her interview by stating that her only intention is to give visibility to “the reality of what happens behind the scenes” and warn future contestants about the challenges they might face: “I’m not going to stay silent because this isn’t right,” she declared.
