Prices decreased and increased by up to seven dollars within 1 day: Chairman and MD of BPCL said that due to the continuous uptick in international prices of crude oil within the last four-five months, public sector petroleum companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel. Didn't make any changes.
He said, prices were fluctuating up to five-seven dollars per barrel in a day. In such a volatile situation, we could not put the burden on the consumers. No distributor can bear the burden of such fluctuations.
No change in retail rates for five months: Apart from BPCL, other public sector petroleum companies Indian Oil and HPCL did not change the retail price of petrol and diesel for about five months.
The head of BPCL said, in such a situation, we ourselves decided to bear some loss. At that time we had the hope that in the future we would make up for this loss. At one time, petroleum companies were facing a loss of Rs 20-25 per liter on diesel and Rs 14-18 on petrol due to high international crude oil prices.
