Kenvue, maker of Tylenol, is acquired by Kimberly Clark in a million-dollar transaction
The purchase agreement between both companies is valued at approximately $48.7 billion
This Monday, the multinational American consumer goods and personal care company, Kimberly Clark, announced the purchase of Kenvue, maker of Tylenol, for a million-dollar sum.
In the merger valued at approximately $48.7 billion, Mike Hsu, CEO of Kimberly-Clark stated, “We will serve billions of consumers at every stage of life.” According to the agreement, Kenvue shareholders will receive $3.50 in cash per share, and the company will remain at Kimberly-Clark's headquarters in Irving, Texas. It was also revealed that Kenvue shareholders will own approximately 46%, while Kimberly-Clark shareholders will own approximately 54%. This has been one of the most significant mergers announced this year, as both companies own well-known brands such as Kenvue's Listerine and Neutrogena; and Kleenex and Kimberly-Clark's Scott.
Finally, these transactions are expected to be finalized by the middle of next year, once the shareholders of both companies have concluded with the approval of all agreements.
