Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board has banned the appointments on the basis of Group-2 Sub Group-4 and Patwari Recruitment Examination. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself has announced this. Ever since the results of this examination came out, the candidates have been alleging huge irregularities. Congress is calling it another scam of Vyapam.

When did the exam for Patwari and other posts and for how many seats?
Direct and backlog recruitment of Group-2 Subgroup-4 Assistant Auditor, Assistant Public Relations Officer, Assistant City Inspector, Assistant Revenue Officer, Assistant Fire Officer and equivalent posts in Madhya Pradesh and for the post of Patwari (Executive) under Land Records, Revenue Department The Combined Recruitment Examination 2022 was conducted from 15 March to 26 April 2023.
This exam was conducted by Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board ie ESB (formerly Vyapam) in online mode in 13 cities of the state. ESB had conducted the exam in two shifts.
When did the result come?
Its result was released on June 30, almost two months after the exam was conducted. Earlier on April 28, the provisional answer key of the exam had come. The recruitment examination was held for a total of 9073 posts, but the maximum number of 6,806 posts were fixed for Patwari. This is the reason why it is more popular as Patwari exam.
Actually, keeping the account of Patwari farming land and its produce is their main task. It maintains records of land under its jurisdiction. In many states, they are also called Lekhpal or Patwar.
What happened after the results?
Controversy has started ever since ESB has declared the results of Patwari Recruitment Exam 2023. In Indore and across the state, including the capital Bhopal, the disqualified candidates have made allegations of irregularities. On the target of candidates, the examination center of BJP MLA from Bhind Sanjeev Singh Kushwaha is NRI Institute which is located in Gwalior district. It is being claimed that this college has been closed for many years and recently it opened only for Patwari exam. These things have been told by the security personnel of the center themselves in front of the media.
157 numbers appeared on the computer, only 86.1 in the result
Apart from alleged irregularities in the examination centres, the examination has also been embroiled in controversies over technical glitches. One such case is of Neetu, a resident of Bakani village of Rajgarh Narsinghgarh tehsil, who was working day and night for the last four years with the dream of becoming a Patwari.
Neetu claimed that she had passed this recruitment test. After the exam was over, she saw 157 marks on the computer screen, but when the result came, she got 86.1 marks, in which she was not qualified. In such a situation, Neetu's father Suresh Rajput has demanded amendment in the Staff Selection Board Commission by giving a complaint application regarding the examination results.
In this case, Neetu said that she had given the Patwari exam on March 21. His center was Shri Vaishnav Polytechnic College Indore. After the exam, he saw 157 numbers on the computer screen. The computer also shut down twice in the middle of the exam. At the same time, after the result, he got 87.3 marks and after normalization, he got 86.1 marks.
What is happening now on the controversy?
After the results of the examination, the candidates are protesting in many cities demanding an inquiry. In this episode, on Thursday, the disqualified candidates in Indore and across the state, including the capital Bhopal, raised slogans and demanded action against those accused of irregularities. Thousands of Patwari exam candidates gathered in front of the Staff Selection Board and performed in Bhopal. The protesters alleged that they were deliberately disqualified and the ineligible were declared successful. In Indore on Thursday morning, thousands of students gheraoed the collector's office alleging scam in Patwari examination. Raising slogans against the government, the students demanded strict action against those who tampered with the examinations.
Why was the appointment stopped?
The echo of the students' protest reached the ears of the government only on Thursday. In this regard, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in the night itself that the result of Sanjeev Singh Kushwaha's college center will be re-examined.
What is politics happening in this?
The Congress party has turned aggressive against the government on this issue. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet, 'Patwari exam scam, Vyapam scam is 2.0, which is playing with the future of lakhs of youth of the state. Earlier, the BJP stole the elected government of the people, now it is stealing their rights from the students and employment from the youth.
Kamal Nath said - Chief Minister accepted rigging
Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath has tweeted that the Chief Minister has decided to stop the appointments through this examination and has accepted that a large scale scam has taken place in it. I want to say in clear words to the Chief Minister that any decision should be such that there is no injustice to the candidates.
How did the government respond to the allegations?
As soon as the results of Madhya Pradesh Patwari Selection Test 2023 came, the Congress has opened a front against the government in the entire state. Many leaders including former President Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, State President and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh have termed it as BJP's Vyapam scam. Meanwhile, the government has also given answers to all the allegations.
Allegation 1: Out of the selected candidates, the center of about one thousand selected candidates is NRI College, Gwalior. (This is the same college which is said to belong to the BJP MLA)
Government's claim: Eight thousand 617 candidates have been selected in the merit list from all 78 examination centers. The information about selection of 1000 candidates from NRI College, Gwalior is misleading and factless. A total of 114 candidates (1.32%) have been selected from here. From other examination centers also maximum 321 candidates (3.73%) to minimum 29 candidates (0.34%) have been selected in merit.
Allegation 2: 7 out of 10 toppers are from NRI College, the exam center at Gwalior
Government's claim: The exam date and shift of all the top 10 ranked candidates are different. That means their question papers were also different. Everyone's profile registration and application forms have also been done from different places on different dates. Of the ten toppers, two are from unreserved, one EWS-disabled, one SC and six from OBC category.
Allegation 3: Most of the toppers have signatures in Hindi and have scored 25 out of 25 marks in English
Government's claim: Of the top 10 candidates, six have signed in Hindi and four in English. No rule is applicable in the Board regarding debarment from admission to the examination due to the making of the signature in Hindi or English. None of the top 10 candidates scored 25 out of 25 marks in the General English section of the question paper. His marks in this section ranged from 13 to 23.
