Disney cruise employees were arrested for child pornography crimes
Agents from the Office of Customs and Border Protection arrested 28 people after boarding 8 cruise ships docked in San Diego between April 23 and 27
Several Disney cruise employees were arrested by Customs and Border Protection(CBP) agents in connection to an investigation into child sexual exploitation material, reports.
Media such as Variety and 10 News reported that CBP detained 28 people after boarding eight cruise ships docked in San Diego between April 23rd and 27th.
“After boarding the vessels and interrogating 26 suspected crew from the Philippines, one from Portugal and one from Indonesia, the agents confirmed that 27 of the 28 subjects were involved in the "reception, possession, transportation, distribution or display of child sexual exploitation material or child pornography," the CBP stated in a statement released by both media.
The agency indicated that the detained people are being repatriated to their countries of origin.
The New York Post reported that one of the cruises boarded by authorities was from Disney.
“We have a zero-tolerance policy for this type of behavior and fully cooperate with authorities,” a Disney Cruise Line spokesperson told People.
While the majority of these people were not on our cruise line, those were no longer work for the company.
10 News reported that a passenger aboard the Disney Magic recorded a video of officers detaining several employees on the ship.
“It wasn't until they turned around that you could read it on the back where it says Customs and Border Protection, but it still said, you know, police or officer,” the passenger, Dharmi Mehta, told 10News.
