Missouri mother arrested after threatening to kill her children during a TikTok live stream

A Missouri mother is accused of threatening to kill her two children during a TikTok live stream, telling them, "I'm sick of you" and "I'm not even going to hit you," according to police.
"Go to sleep before I kill you," Elena Lujan, 30, told them. years, to the children, ages 3 and 7, during her live stream early Saturday morning, according to a probable cause statement filed in Cole County Circuit Court.
“You fucking idiots,” Lujan allegedly said, before lashing out at one of her two children, telling them they would be the reason for both of their deaths.
“I'll kill her and you'll be the reason she's dead,” Lujan allegedly told them. “I'm fed up with you all, and if I could kill you and keep your sister, I would.” According to the police report, the woman added, “The only reason you're still alive is because if I kill you, I'll go to jail.” Authorities were alerted Saturday about the TikTok live stream, prompting officers to visit Lujan's apartment around 2 am, according to the probable cause statement. Upon arrival, they found Lujan allegedly intoxicated and unconscious in the children's room, with an open bottle of tequila on the kitchen counter and broken glass on the floor. “A 3-year-old child was lying on the living room couch,” the probable cause statement states. "A 7-year-old boy was asleep in the defendant's bedroom. Due to her intoxication, it took several minutes to wake her."
Lujan was arrested and placed in the back of a patrol car, where, according to police, she spat through the open window at an officer standing outside. She refused to take a breathalyzer test and was taken to a local police station.
“She made numerous death threats against the victims,” the probable cause statement concludes. “She is the only adult living in the house.”
During the alleged live stream, Police say they heard Lujan yelling at one of her children and telling him to say “yes, ma'am.” “While crying, the child kept saying 'yes, ma'am,'” the probable cause statement indicates. Lujan was charged with child abuse and taken to the Cole County Jail,where she remains in custody without bond.
