Ariana Grande joins the new season of 'American Horror Story'
The legendary FX series, 'American Horror Story,' returns with its 13th season. For the first time, the entire original cast will reunite.
The thirteenth season of FX's anthology series, 'American Horror Story,' is shaping up to be one of the most important and anticipated in the franchise's history, thanks to a cast announcement that has thrilled fans.
The big news is the addition of superstar Ariana Grande to the universe of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. This will be a reunion, as Grande starred in the creators' short-lived horror-comedy, 'Scream Queens,' a decade ago.
However, what truly makes this season historic is the massive and nostalgic return of iconic faces from the series who haven't appeared in years. Among the confirmed names are:
The cast is rounded out by other franchise regulars such as Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd (both Grande's co-stars in 'Scream Queens') and Leslie Grossman.
Plot Speculation
The reunion of so many stars from past seasons has led fans to speculate that season 13 could be a sequel or pick up the story from a previous installment.
The strongest theory points to the third season, 'Coven' (about a school of witches in New Orleans), since the series has a history of crossovers, as happened in 'Apocalypse', which united 'Murder House', 'Coven' and 'Hotel'.
The official announcement, made through Ryan Murphy Productions' Instagram page, showed the cast names in the series' signature font accompanied by Vera Lynn's version of “I'll Be Seeing You”, further increasing the mystery and anticipation.
Season 12, titled 'Delicate' and starring, among others, Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian, concluded its run in April 2024.
