Pedro Sola and Pati Chapoy are reported to the FGR for alleged apology of animal abuse
The office "Va por sus Derechos" turned to the authorities in CDMX to file a complaint against the drivers of "Ventaneando"
The controversy over Pedro Sola's comments about dogs in pet-friendly establishments has reached the legal field after the organization “Va por sus Derechos” filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) for crimes related to the alleged apology for animal abuse.
According to a statement released by the organization, the complaint was filed against the host of “Ventaneando” and other participants of the program who were in favor of his speech, including the communicator Pati Chapoy.
At the beginning of its message, the “Va por sus Derechos” office clarified that its actions have no partisan intention and that this is not an isolated event, since they have previously joined initiatives related to the protection of animals in the Sonora Market.
According to the agency, the comments made by Pedro Sola could “promote and normalize acts of violence and animal abuse, conduct expressly prohibited and sanctioned by current legislation.”
“He goes for his rights” he also stressed that “ignorance of the law does not exempt the communicator from responsibility” for the type of speeches he promotes in a national media outlet.
"We cannot allow a form of violence that continues to take lives from a space of national scope to be normalized or minimized. Animal abuse is not a joke, it is not a form of entertainment and will never be acceptable," the agency stated from its social networks.
This is not the first organization to take action against the comments made on July 6 during the broadcast of the “Ventaneando” program. Let us remember that a petition promoted on the Change.org website is active, where users demand the dismissal of Pedro Sola and Pati Chapoy, as well as the cancellation of the “Ventaneando” program.
