Shakira dedicated an emotional message to her father during one of her shows in Mexico, as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.
In her concert on August 26 at the GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico City, the singer performed the ranchera “Sombras nada mas,” a song that her father, William Mebarak Chadid, really likes.
Before starting the song, Shakira shared with the more than 50,000 attendees that her father would be proud to hear her sing this song by the great Mexican exponent Javier Solis.
“My father really liked this song, and I know that he would be very proud to hear it today. It's by the great Mexican exponent, Javier Solis,” Shakira expressed.
This gesture became very emotional, especially considering the delicate state of her father's health, who has had medical complications in recent years.
In addition, the night was full of surprises such as the special appearance of Danna and the joint performance of hits that consolidate Shakira's special relationship with Mexico, a key country in her international career.
Currently, Shakira is in Mexico, where she recently began the second leg of her Latin American tour.
The singer will perform 17 shows in Mexico which will generate more than $106 million in tourism spending, benefiting various local industries.
After its shows in Mexico, the tour will continue its journey through Latin America with confirmed dates in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Shakira's Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour is thus consolidated as a milestone in Latin music and a phenomenon on social media, where the artist does not hesitate to celebrate the support and passion of her fans on every stage.
