Spanish Television (RTVE) made the definitive announcement by confirming that the Colombian superstar will be the key figure in its special programming for December 31st. Under the title "The House of Music," RTVE announced that Shakira joins an ambitious lineup of artists to ring in 2020, a move that surprised both the industry and her fans. The news was made official through a video broadcast on the program "Directo al grain," where the singer herself sent a message that did not go unnoticed due to its emotional weight: "Returning to Spanish Television is like reconnecting with a part of my career and my history. So, see you to end the year on La 1, the house of music." These words take on special significance given the artist's personal circumstances. Following her highly publicized breakup with former footballer Gerard Pique in 2022 and her subsequent move to Miami in April 2023, Shakira's appearances on Spanish television have been virtually nonexistent, limited to court appearances and brief personal visits. The special “La Casa de la Musica,” which will begin at 10:45 pm (local time), will also celebrate TVE's 70th anniversary with top-tier performances from iconic locations across Spain. The Colombian singer will share the stage with other major comebacks, such as Amaia Montero with La Oreja de Van Gogh, as well as artists like Lola Indigo, Ana Torroja, and Estopa, who will also present the New Year's Eve countdown alongside Chenoa. It is still unclear whether Shakira will be present; some sources suggest that the singer will make a pre-recorded connection from Miami with a high-quality production.
