Taylor Swift once again showed that her heart is as big as her talent. The 35-year-old pop star made a silent donation of $100,000 to the family of Lilah, a two-year-old girl diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.

Lilah's story went viral after her mother, Katelynn Smoot, shared videos of her daughter's medical journey on TikTok under the account Stand with Lilah. In one of the posts, the little girl is seen watching a video of the “Life of a Showgirl” singer on her iPad and affectionately calling her “my friend.”

“This might be my fault,” Katelynn wrote with a laugh in the video's description, recalling that she constantly listened to Swift's music throughout her pregnancy. "I listened to Taylor throughout my pregnancy and then gave birth to a mini Swiftie. Lilah loves her music and always enjoyed it during her cancer treatment."

Lilah's cancer is extremely rare and aggressive: only 58 cases were reported in the United States last year, according to the GoFundMe page set up by her family. Although she has already undergone surgery to remove a brain mass, her treatment includes months of chemotherapy, proton radiation, and a complex stem cell process.

The donation was made through GoFundMe

After the video went viral, Swift's gesture came as a ray of hope. On October 17, the singer donated to Lilah's GoFundMe campaign, accompanying the contribution with a tender message:

“Sending a huge hug to my friend Lilah! Love, Taylor.” Taylor Swift

The contribution not only exceeded the family's fundraising goal, but also allowed them to fully focus on supporting their daughter through treatment. “This means the world to us,” Katelynn said in a new video of herself dancing with Lilah to Swift's “The Fate of Ophelia.”
