After the murder of Ankita Bhandari, there is huge outrage among the local people of Uttarakhand. People set fire to the Vantara Resort of the accused BJP leader. Apart from this, the car of BJP MLA Renu Bisht of Yamkeshwar was also vandalized by the angry people. Even the accused were beaten up fiercely by the people. The ownership of the resort is with Pulkit Arya, son of BJP leader Vinod Arya. Three accused including Pulkit have been arrested in the murder case.

Post mortem of Ankita Bhandari was done in AIIMS Rishikesh. After which the body was handed over to the family. It is being told that Ankita's last rites will be performed in Haridwar.

Taking major action in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, BJP expelled Vinod Arya, father of main accused Pulkit Arya and brother Ankit Arya from the party with immediate effect. The status of Minister of State was also taken away from Ankit Arya.

In fact, the body of a missing receptionist of a resort in Uttarakhand was recovered from the Chila canal on Saturday morning. It is being told that after killing Ankita Bhandari, the body was thrown into the Chila canal.

Pulkit Arya, resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta confessed to the crime of killing the girl and throwing the body in the Chila canal, after which the three were arrested by the police. After being produced in the court, all three were sent to 14-day custody. Pauri ASP Shekhar Chandra Suyal had told that initially the accused tried to mislead the police, but after rigorous interrogation, they accepted the crime. Before the girl's body was found, her parents had lodged a complaint that she had been missing since Monday.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered an SIT to investigate the Ankita murder case. He tweeted, "The body of daughter Ankita was recovered this morning. My heart is deeply pained by this heartbreaking incident. He said, 'In order to get the harshest punishment for the culprits, a SIT has been formed under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police P Renuka Devi ji and ordered an in-depth investigation of this serious matter. Pulkit Arya, the main accused in this case, is the owner of the resort where the victim used to work. Pulkit is the son of BJP leader Vinod Arya from Haridwar. Vinod Arya has been the President of Uttarakhand Mati Kala Board. The BJP leader's son had illegally constructed this resort in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district, which was demolished on Friday night. Dhami said, it is our resolve that the culprits of this heinous crime will not be spared.
