Maharashtra: Woman commits suicide in Mumbai, three booked for extortion in Thane

A 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a high-rise building in Mumbai's Andheri West area. A police officer gave this information on Sunday. He told that the incident took place late on Saturday night in the DNA Nagar police station area.
The woman jumped from the eighth floor of the building and fell on top of a car parked there, the police officer said. The watchman of the complex informed the residents and the police. He was declared brought dead after reaching a nearby hospital. He said that a report of accidental death has been registered at DN Nagar police station and further investigation is on.
Thane: Case registered against three for extortion
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against three people for extorting money from factory owners in Thane district. The accused allegedly used to present themselves as officers of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. A police officer gave this information on Sunday.
A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for extortion on the complaint of the owner of the Dombivli-based powder coating factory. But no arrest has been made so far.
