To make the prohibition law effective, the scope of action of Bihar Police is increasing. Within a month, the seizure of liquor has increased by 13.67 percent. Arrests have also increased by 10.46 percent. Most of the liquor has been recovered in Vaishali. Patna is at number one in terms of arrest. Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Jitendra Singh Gangwar on Wednesday gave details of the achievements of the FIR, seizure, confiscation of liquor, arrest and confiscation of vehicles used in liquor smuggling in September.
In the special raids conducted by the local police and Prohibition Division across the state, 8,451 cases have been registered. A total of three lakh 20 thousand 15 liters of liquor including a total of 1,47,982 liters of country liquor and 1,72,033 liters of foreign liquor were seized. The seized liquor is 13.67 percent more than the month of August. A total of 20,087 accused were arrested, which is 10.46 percent more than the arrests made in August. A total of 1,787 vehicles have been seized. This figure is also 11.41 percent more than the number of vehicles seized in the month of August.

In the five districts where most liquor has been found, Vaishali is at number one. A total of 30960 liters of liquor was seized here in 30 days. 26526 liters of liquor was caught in Patna, 23503 in Madhubani, 17708 in Darbhanga and 16236 liters in Begusarai.

ADGP Headquarters Jitendra Singh Gangwar says that a campaign is being run by the Police of various districts and the Prohibition Division of Bihar Police to ensure the success of Prohibition and Excise (Amendment) Act 2018 and implementation of complete prohibition in the state. An appeal is being made to the general public on behalf of the Bihar Police Headquarters that if there is any information related to the making, sale, smuggling or use of liquor, then the toll free number 15545 or 18003456268 of the Prohibition Unit must be informed. The name of the informer will be kept confidential.
