Raees Khan Pathan said that after the 2002 Gujarat riots, then Rajya Sabha MP and late Congress leader Ahmed Patel had called Teesta to meet him at the Circuit House for the first time. Ahmed Patel told Teesta that he was aware of her role in the Babri Masjid riots.

25 lakh was handed over to Teesta Setalvad

According to the report of news agency ANI, Raees Khan Pathan said that Ahmed Patel assured Teesta Setalvad of funding from his own party and agencies of the country and abroad. Initially, an amount of Rs 5 lakh was given to Teesta. Later an amount of Rs 25 lakh was handed over to Teesta Setalvad. Let us tell you that Teesta Setalvad's foreign connections were disclosed by his former colleague Raees Khan Pathan in one of his affidavits submitted to the court.


Teesta had a lot of money coming from abroad through hawala

According to Raees Khan, Teesta Setalvad had received a lot of money from abroad through hawala. Teesta and her husband Javed Anand used to bring out a magazine called Communalism Combat and it was funded from abroad. It was considered a direct violation of FCRA to spend it on any other item other than the work for which the foreign funds were received. Later, the central government decided to cancel the FCRA license of Teesta and her husband Javed Anand's Sabrang Trust. The government alleged that this trust violates the FCRA. Also, they use foreign money in anti-national activities.
