Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has taken the first major decision after the formation of the government. In the Legislature Party meeting at the Secretariat on Monday, CM Sukhu has discussed increasing the tariff given for the stay of MLAs in Himachal Bhawan Chandigarh and Himachal Sadan Delhi. 

In the meeting, the CM decided that the MLAs in Himachal Bhavan Chandigarh and Himachal Sadan Delhi would pay the rent of the rooms like a common citizen. The concession given to the MLAs will be abolished. CM Sukhu said that common citizens have to pay more money to stay here while MLAs had exemption which has now been abolished.

Earlier, the employees of Himachal Pradesh warmly welcomed Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu at the Secretariat on Monday. Thousands of officers and employees of the secretariat lined up at the main gate to welcome the Chief Minister. People from different areas of the state also congratulated Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on assuming the office of Chief Minister.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also took a meeting of the officers. Later, interacting with the members of Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services Association, the Chief Minister exhorted them to work with renewed vigour, dedication and commitment to come up to the expectations of the people of the State.

He said that good governance is essential for good governance, therefore it becomes the duty of the officers to devote their time to redress the grievances of the people. He said that the officers should work to bring a pleasant change in the life of the common man.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, MLA Harshvardhan Chauhan, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subhasish Panda and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
