In a significant boost to India’s urban infrastructure, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Wednesday that the Cabinet has given the green light to three major metro projects and two new airport facilities. These approvals are set to enhance public transportation and aviation connectivity in key regions, further supporting the country’s rapid urbanization and economic growth.

Cabinet Approval of Metro Projects

Among the approved metro projects, two are part of the ambitious Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-3. The first corridor, which spans from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura along the Outer Ring Road West, will cover a distance of 32.15 kilometers and feature 21 stations. This corridor is designed to serve the bustling western suburbs of Bangalore, providing much-needed connectivity and easing traffic congestion in one of the city’s most densely populated areas.

The second corridor, from Hosahalli to Kadabagere along Magadi Road, will extend over 12.50 kilometers and include 9 stations. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the importance of these metro projects in meeting the growing demands for efficient urban transportation. He stated, “The Cabinet today approved three metro projects, which include two new corridors under the Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-3.
