1. When friends know more than they say

One of the least obvious signs of possible infidelity does not come directly from the couple, but from the people around them.

According to therapist Steve Carleton, a California clinical social worker and certified relationship counselor, friends often become unwitting observers of an uncomfortable situation when they learn of an infidelity that the other person is unaware of.

“If they suddenly seem distant or uncomfortable when you are around, it could be a sign that they know something that you don't,” the expert reiterated.

“Sometimes, due to the stress of keeping his infidelity hidden, your partner will compensate for his emotions by being more intimate with you and thus avoid suspicion,” the expert said.

In some cases, this increase in sexual interest may be accompanied by new practices, sudden changes in intimate preferences or initiatives that did not previously exist within the relationship.
