BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah have got a big relief from the Supreme Court. Both will remain in their posts for the next three years. The Supreme Court has approved the extension of the tenure of both.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday gave its verdict while hearing the petition filed for amendment in the constitution of BCCI . The Supreme Court has given its approval to amend the constitution of BCCI. SC allows BCCI to amend its constitution and says, we are of the view that the amendment will not dilute the original purpose. We accept the proposed amendment. The amendment proposed by BCCI does not detract from the spirit of our original decision and is accepted.

The Supreme Court approved the amendment related to the cooling off period. The Supreme Court said during the hearing, there is no need for a cooling off period after one term. However, the top court said, it can be done after two terms.
