Alejandro Zendejas, Mexican-American forward of the Águilas del América, revealed to La Opinión the series of emotions that overwhelmed his body and did not hesitate to confess that when he received the email from the USMNT team of his call-up, he could not help but let his tears betray him.
"When I get on WhatsApp and all that, I see that I'm in a group and at first I was calm, I didn't want to get crazy because I was there with my girlfriend, but then we got into the car finishing training and that's when we started crying."
Zendejas said that when he received the email from the United States Federation he was in San Antonio, Texas, with his family training, perhaps because he already had some news that he would be called up after The Guardian had announced since Saturday that he would be called to the World Cup by the Stars and Stripes team.
"In San Antonio, my family is there and I was finishing training and I just looked at my cell phone screen and saw that there was an email, but I still didn't want to see it. I wanted to wait until I finished training and not go crazy."

I had that opportunity, that desire that I wish I could get on the list. I wasn't sure, but thank God it was possible.
Are you a player who could contribute many things? What do you think you can contribute to that team?
I just said that I am very agile, eh, I like to be close to my teammates, play soccer, enjoy, the tiki taka that you can say. That's what I like and I hope I can create many opportunities when it's my turn to play so that the team can score a goal.
