Cruz Azul demands punishment for Efraín Juárez for accusations of referee benefits
Cruz Azul protested against the accusations made by Efraín Juárez on Wednesday night that the arbitration allows the cement producers
The Cruz Azul board filed a protest with the Disciplinary Commission demanding a sanction against the Pumas coach, Efraín Juárez, for his statements at the end of the first leg of the grand final, where he indicated that the light blue team had preferential treatment from the referees throughout the league.
Juárez put the heat on him at the end of the game when he went all out against the celestials, questioning that they had complained about the appointment of referee Daniel Quintero Huitrón for the final final next Sunday, pointing out that the cement workers benefited in the games against Atlas and Chivas to reach the final, thereby insinuating that they did not have the moral quality to do so.
Juárez said in this regard that "I am surprised that an institution as large as Cruz Azul wants to take advantage of circumstances, when the ones who have benefited the most from the refereeing have been them. We must not forget, minute 30 against Atlas, a handball, a penalty and they do not score it; we must not forget the penalty against Chivas, we must not forget Fernández's handball; they do score me against América and they do not."
He added that: "That they still have the audacity to go and complain when they are here due to those circumstances is impressive to me. Surely they do it with the intention of giving the referee a hard time."
Juárez's statements generated discomfort in the Cruz Azul board, which did not hesitate to file a protest against the feline coach because he directly alluded to the cement organization without giving the names of the whistlers, but rather their failures.
For this reason, the celestial high command headed by engineer Víctor Velázquez filed a protest before the Disciplinary Commission so that the feline strategist be sanctioned, since it is assessed that he is violating the code of ethics of the Mexican Soccer Federation.
At La Noria they are aware that the sanction can only be financial, but they want it to be exemplary, because it is launched directly against the club and that is something that will not be allowed, especially because this is not the first time that Juárez has crossed the line due to his comments and attitudes.
Not long ago he was invited by his board to be more cautious in his attitudes, especially for leading the team that represents the highest educational house in Mexico.
