Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis fight is canceled
Nakisa Bidarian -CEO of MVP- explained that they will soon share details about the new date and opponent that Paul will face before the end of 2025
Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced that the exhibition fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis was canceled after the World Boxing Association (WBA) 135-pound champion was sued for domestic violence.
In a statement released this Monday, Nakisa Bidarian -CEO of MVP- explained “Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix have announced that the fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, originally scheduled for Friday, November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, will no longer take place. “Our team has worked closely with all parties to address this situation responsibly. While we will not be moving forward with this event, we are maintaining the plan for Jake Paul to headline a Netflix event in 2025. We will share details regarding the new date, venue, Jake's opponent, and additional fights as soon as they are finalized,” they indicated. It's worth noting that Tank was recently sued by his ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel for assault, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. The incident reportedly occurred at a nightclub in Miami Gardens, Florida, on October 27. This led to the cancellation of the fight, which had been heavily criticized since its announcement due to the weight difference between the two fighters. Jake Paul fights at 200 pounds and Gervonta Davis at 135 pounds, but the fighters had reached an agreement to enter the ring at a catchweight of 195 pounds. Jake Paul, 27, has five positive test results after suffering his first loss to Tommy Fury, brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, by split decision. The American YouTuber also has a record of 12 wins (six by knockout) and one loss. Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis, 29, maintained his undefeated record after a controversial draw against Lamont Roach Jr. The WBA regular American lightweight world champion has a record of 30 wins, 28 of them by knockout, and one draw.
