How much will families benefiting from the STAR program in New York receive?
Economic relief will begin to be distributed next week with amounts reaching $650 dollars
Starting this summer, millions of households in New York with school-age children will benefit from economic relief from the state's School Tax Relief (STAR) program, which expects to distribute up to $2.2 billion dollars.
According to the entity's website, STAR is a financial aid for eligible residents to reduce their property taxes.
In this regard, the governor of New York, Kathy Hochul commented summer is here, and it also marks the beginning of the STAR tax relief season for millions of New Yorkers. From tax credits to childcare assistance and much more, we continue to put more money in the pockets of New Yorkers, she said.
