India has expressed concern over reports of shelling near a used fuel storage facility of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in Ukraine. India attaches utmost importance to ensuring the safety and security of these stations, as any accident involving nuclear stations can have serious consequences for people's health and the environment.

In her address to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Ukraine, Ruchira Kamboj said that India expresses its concern over reports of shelling near the used fuel storage facility of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. "We call for mutual restraint so that the safety and security of nuclear facilities is not threatened," he said in an open meeting at the Security Council on the status of the Zaporizhzhya plant.
