ICE releases an AI-generated video showing Santa Claus arresting immigrants
The video, which shows Santa wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying weapons, urges undocumented immigrants to leave the country voluntarily
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released an AI-generated Christmas ad showing Santa Claus working as an ICE agent.
The video, which shows an imposing Santa wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying weapons, urges undocumented immigrants to leave the country voluntarily.
The figure, depicted in the traditional red suit and white beard, appears with the ICE logo on his chest.
He is then shown detaining migrants on a street alongside other agents, processing a person at an immigration center, and escorting them to a plane for deportation.
The video encourages undocumented immigrants to “avoid Santa’s naughty list” by self-deporting through the CBP One app, previously used by the Biden administration to allow migrants legal entry into the United States.
A caption for the video indicates that participants will receive $3,000 and a free flight back to their country of origin if they leave the country voluntarily.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that the incentive, which has been tripled for the holiday season, will be available through the end of 2025 and will be offered to people residing in the country without documents.
Approximately 1.9 million undocumented immigrants have voluntarily self-deported since President Trump took office, according to The New York Post. The campaign is part of a broader department initiative to promote voluntary deportations as an alternative to formal enforcement measures. This comes just weeks after a previous ad showed immigration agents with Christmas decorations in a social media post, using a Santa Claus-inspired pun to promote the Trump administration's mass deportation agenda.
