Russia says Vladimir Putin was invited to Trump's Peace Council
The Peace Council will oversee governance and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and is being promoted by Trump
“Indeed, President Putin has received, through diplomatic channels, the proposal to join the Peace Council.
At this time, we are studying all the “Details of the proposal,” said Dmitry Peskov, presidential spokesman, in his daily telephone press conference. Peskov expressed his confidence in “clarifying all doubts” in the upcoming contacts with the Americans.
Reconstruction and oversight of Gaza
What is known so far about the composition of the Council is that it will include, among others, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair; US Secretary of State Marco Rubio; White House envoy Steve Witkoff; and Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, among other names.
It has since been revealed that Trump also invited King Abdullah II of Jordan; to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, an Islamist, and also to Argentine President Javier Milei.
Phase two of Trump's peace plan for Gaza envisions the formation of a technocratic government in the Strip and the disarmament of the Islamist movement Hamas.
