Trump sues California for enrolling undocumented students
The Trump administration accuses California of providing college tuition, scholarships, and financial aid to students without immigration papers
The administration of President Donald Trump sued California for providing state university tuition, scholarships, and financial aid to students who do not have the immigration documentation to remain in the United States.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, says the practice harms U.S. citizens, in addition to encouraging illegal immigration.
The lawsuit accuses the state of California, high-ranking state officials, and California's two public university systems: the University of California (UC) and California State University.
