FDA announces recall of pancake mix for ingredient not declared on packaging

This week, through a statement, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced to American consumers about the recall of Birch Benders sweet potato pancake and waffle mix for an ingredient not declared on the packaging.
According to the health entity, the product belongs to the manufacturer Hometown Food Company, who admitted that the mixture contained egg, a food that was not added to the list of ingredients and that could cause allergies or seriously fatal reactions in highly intolerant people.
According to the manufacturer, the recall only affects the lot of Birch Benders Sweet Potato Pancake and Waffle Mix 12 oz, which has the box item code “8 1000156076 5,” item UPC code “8 1000156076 8”; batch code “5 265”, and expiration date of March 24, 2027.
According to the FDA report published on its website, this product was sold in all supermarkets and health food stores in the country. Therefore, it recommends consumers throw away the food or return it to the retailer where they purchased it for a refund.
