Products recalled from retailer Aldi are 8.1-ounce packages of Fusia Asian Inspirations kimchi and tofu kimbap
This week, the retail chain Aldi announced to its customers about the voluntary recall of a kimchi and tofu kimbap product, which were sold in at least 19 states in the country due to an undeclared ingredient on the packaging that may be harmful to allergic consumers.
According to the statement, the recalled products are 8.1-ounce packages of ALDI brand Fusia Asian Inspirations kimchi and tofu kimbap, distributed by New Jersey-based Gellert Global Group.
According to details in the recall report, the foods could contain tuna that, if not declared, “people who have a severe allergy or sensitivity to fish are at risk of suffering a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the retailer said.
Among the states that were distributed are Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Louisiana, Maryland and Texas with an expiration date of October 8, 2027.
For its part, Gellert Global Group assured that, although the labeling error was reported by a client, so far there have been no cases of people poisoned by the consumption of these foods; Likewise, the company indicated that an investigation was initiated to find the “temporary failure” in the packaging of the product.
