The new AC GT Coupé mixes nostalgia and 799 horses
AC Cars presented the new GT Coupé, a sports car inspired by Le Mans that combines classic design, V8 engines and current technology
Few cars inspire as much nostalgia among British sports car fans as the Cobra. His silhouette, his rebellious character and his link with competition made him a true legend. Now, that story adds a new chapter with the arrival of the AC GT Coupé, a modern reinterpretation of one of the brand's most admired models.

After the launch of the renewed GT Roadster, AC Cars decided to complete the family with a closed variant that takes direct inspiration from the legendary cars that competed in Le Mans in the sixties. The result is a vehicle that respects its heritage, but that incorporates 21st century engineering and technology.

The British firm, considered the oldest active car manufacturer in the United Kingdom, seeks to attract both collectors and drivers who want something different from the traditional proposals of the luxury segment.
A modern tribute to a legend of the slopes
The new GT Coupé takes as a reference the historic AC A98 Le Mans from 1964, a model developed exclusively for competition. Unlike that vehicle, which never hit the streets en masse, this new creation will be available to customers around the world.
Its design maintains the brand's characteristic muscular proportions, although it incorporates a Kammtail-type rear part that improves aerodynamic efficiency. The fixed carbon fiber roof, with a double bubble design, adds visual personality and helps increase structural rigidity.
The aesthetics combine classic elements with contemporary details that reinforce its image of a high-performance grand tourer.
A V8 that defies current trends
While much of the industry accelerates towards electrification, AC Cars continues to bet on large displacement combustion engines.
Under the hood appears a 5.0-liter Ford V8 engine available in several configurations. The entry version develops 433 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. For those seeking more thrills, there is also a supercharged alternative capable of delivering up to 710 horsepower and 605 pound-feet of torque.
The most radical variant will be the GT Coupé Clubsport. This edition limited to only 99 units will reach 799 horsepower, becoming the most extreme model in the range.
Buyers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic. Thanks to these figures, the British sports car promises to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.
Modern engineering under a classic body
Although its appearance is reminiscent of the past, the technical basis is completely new. AC Cars developed an extruded aluminum monocoque that serves as a platform for this new generation of sports cars.
The structure was designed to offer high torsional rigidity without penalizing weight. In addition, the mass distribution close to perfect balance favors precise dynamic behavior both on the road and on the track.
The most powerful versions incorporate high-performance brakes with six-piston front calipers and a set specifically calibrated to withstand extreme demands.
The 21-inch forged wheels work alongside Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, although more performance-focused customers can opt for the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.
British luxury with modern technology
The interior is committed to a mix of traditional craftsmanship and modern technological solutions. Premium leather, carbon fiber and high-quality materials dominate the cabin.
The seats incorporate carbon fiber structures and numerous exclusive details that reference the brand's history. It also features a 10.25-inch touch screen compatible with current connectivity functions.
Drivers will have four driving modes and three steering settings, allowing the vehicle's behavior to be adapted to road conditions or personal preferences.
Limited production and exclusive prices
AC Cars does not intend to turn the GT Coupe into a high-volume model. The company plans to manufacture just 250 units a year for international markets.
The exclusivity will be even greater in the case of the Clubsport, whose production will be limited to only 99 examples.
The first deliveries are scheduled for 2028. The entry price will start at $320,000 for the naturally aspirated version, while the supercharged variants will start at $345,000.
