In November, the state of California will continue sending stimulus checks to families in Sacramento County through the Family First Economic Support Program (FFESP) with amounts up to $725.

According to the website, the FFESP is part of a series of social programs seeking solutions to economic inequality among residents of different counties According to the California Department of Social Services, the program also aims to collect data from citizens to inform future public policies and provide further assistance. “We seek to demonstrate that direct financial support can improve family well-being and strengthen long-term financial independence,” the agency stated. Participants in this program are required to meet certain criteria. The FFESP does not impose conditions on its beneficiaries regarding the use of this monthly benefit, which is typically sent within the first two weeks of each month; however, it advises that the money is intended to cover essential expenses such as food, healthcare, rent, childcare, and transportation.
