Hispanic man sentenced for threatening to kill Orange judge

A Hispanic man was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for threatening to kill an Orange County judge who presided over a child custody case involving his minor son.
Byrom Zuniga Sanchez, 34, a former resident of Laguna Niguel was found guilty by a court in December 2025, the US Attorney's Office said in a press release. According to prosecutors, between May and July 2023, Zuniga Sanchez emailed death threats to the judge and threatened to kill or harm others, including other court employees, lawyers, and law enforcement officials.
