Bianca Censori reveals that her connection with Kanye West began before his divorce from Kim Kardashian
For the first time, Kanye West's wife, Bianca Censori, gave an interview and spoke about her relationship with the singer
In a revealing interview with Vanity Fair, Bianca Censori, wife of Kanye West, also known as Ye, addressed for the first time the origins of her relationship with the controversial rapper, confirming that their contact began while he was still married to Kim Kardashian.
Censori, 31, explained that it all started when West saw her post a “digital mask with alien proportions” on Instagram. Impressed, the Grammy winner had the Yeezy general manager contact her.
This initial contact occurred during West's marriage to Kardashian, before the socialite filed for divorce in February 2021, after nearly seven years together and four children.
The personal meeting took place in Switzerland, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, where Censori would eventually become the head of architecture for the Yeezy brand. It was in this professional context that, according to her, the romance blossomed due to “proximity.”
Details on how the romance began
“You spend so much time with someone,” Censori recalled. “We were on the phone or together all the time… You have to see it. We’re so alike.” The magazine notes that the couple was falling in love “around the same time” that Kardashian was initiating divorce proceedings. Censori vehemently defended the nature of their union: “I didn’t marry my husband because I wanted a platform. I married him because I love him. Is that the cheesiest thing in the world?” The wedding took place in December 2022, just a month after West and Kardashian’s divorce was legally finalized. The interview doesn’t shy away from the turmoil surrounding the couple. Censori admitted to having considered leaving the marriage due to West’s recent scandals, including the controversial sale of T-shirts with swastikas, though she ultimately dismissed those doubts as “superficial.” Tearfully, she described the arduous process of helping West, 48,to seek rehab last year and support him after his public apology for antisemitic comments in January.
“All I can do is be there and help,” she confessed. “This year was very much like performing CPR for months. I feel the love and empathy for him to be able to do that.”
Beyond the controversy, Censori praised West as a “great father” to his four stepchildren — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm — and expressed her desire to have children of her own with him in the future.
So far, Kim Kardashian has not responded to Censori’s statements or the timeline of events presented. The revelation sheds new light on the complex transition between two highly publicized chapters in Kanye West’s life.
