“Choka, Choka”: Shakira and Anitta together in a song
The two leading exponents of Latin pop join forces on Equilibrivm, the Brazilian star's upcoming album, set for release on April 16
The pop world received news many were waiting for: Brazilian singer Anitta officially confirmed that Shakira will be featured on her eighth studio album, titled “Equilibrivm”.
Through her Instagram account, the Brazilian singer revealed the name of the collaboration: “Choka Choka”, a track that promises to become one of the most powerful anthems of 2026.
For the announcement, Anitta shared an image laden with mystical symbolism: a tarot card where both artists are illustrated under the stars, with Shakira representing the sun and Anitta the moon.
“You have no idea how happy I am to announce this collaboration,” expressed the “Envolver” singer, who recently celebrated her 33rd birthday with the announcement of this new project.
“Equilibrivm”: a trilingual project
Anitta's new album, scheduled for release on April 16, marks a milestone in her international career. With the stylized title “EquilibrIVm,” the album will include songs in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
According to the producers, the release will be divided into two phases. The first phase will explore Brazilian roots with rhythms of funk, samba, and reggae, while the second phase will boost its international projection with collaborations such as the one with Shakira.
Live debut in Copacabana?
Rumors have already begun to spread. Fans speculate that the world live premiere of “Choka Choka” could take place on May 2nd, the date on which Shakira will give a massive free concert on the iconic Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro.
