Harry Styles promises changes after criticism of his stage on the “Together, Together” tour
The wave of criticism and questions about visibility at his concerts led the singer to rethink his staging. This is what he said
Less than a month after starting his “Together, Together” world tour, singer Harry Styles has announced changes to his show due to the wave of criticism received for the stage design. Thousands of fans who attended his first performances in Europe said that the structures blocked visibility and made it difficult to see the singer during much of the concert.
During one of his most recent shows at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam, the former One Direction member addressed the negative comments and explained the reason behind the scenery chosen for his world tour.
According to the famous man, beyond an “ostentatious” staging, his purpose with the elevated platforms and bridges was to stay closer to the audience that accompanies him in his shows.
"The reason we made the stage like this is because I wanted to be on it with you. I wanted to be as close as possible to the greatest number of you," the singer is heard saying in the middle of the concert.
In this sense, Harry Styles said that the concept of the tour was developed with the intention of strengthening his closeness with the public not only through the music, but through each visual element that composes it.
“It's about being together, having fun together, dancing together, being with friends and strangers,” he highlighted in the conversation he had with the public and which soon went viral on social networks such as Instagram and TikTok.
For its part, the famous production team informed the BBC that it will make modifications to the scenery to guarantee a good experience for the public who will attend the rest of its shows in European territory.
According to the statement, adjustments to improve visibility and not compromise the venue's security measures will be carried out starting with the next presentations that Styles has scheduled in London, including his residency at Wembley.
Harry Styles' “Together, Together” tour officially kicked off on May 16 and is scheduled to visit several cities around the world, including: Mexico City, São Paulo, Melbourne, Sydney, London and New York at Madison Square Garden, where he will perform a 30-night residency.
