Pitbull breaks Guinness record by gathering 22,000 fans wearing fake bald caps
The British capital experienced an unusual event, with thousands of dressed-up attendees who turned the show into a viral experience
Amid applause and the euphoria of thousands of fans dressed like him, the singer Pitbull took the stage at the BST Hyde Park festival in London to receive the certificate awarded by Guinness that consolidates his record that he broke for gathering the largest number of people with false bald heads in the same place.
The great feat of the Puerto Rican took place on July 10 in the British capital, during the presentation he offered at the BST Hyde Park festival.
According to official figures, there were 22,141 people who joined the initiative of wearing false bald heads, aviator glasses, a white shirt and a black tie to imitate the unmistakable image of "Mr. Worldwide."
This insurmountable number of participants underwent exhaustive supervision by official judge Will Munford, in order to be included in the Guinness record.
The process consisted of the hair having to be completely hidden under the false bald head and correctly covering the front and top of the head. This accessory also had to remain in place for at least one minute. Even those people with natural baldness were not exempt from complying with these rules.
This meant that Pitbull himself had to put on a false bald head to be part of the record: “You need a false bald head on your head for this to count (…) I know you're bald, I know you've been through a lot, but this won't count,” BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James joked with him.
Once the count was verified through drone images, Pitbull received the certificate that placed him in the Guinness Book of Records on the stage of the BST Hyde Park festival.
Moved, the famous man thanked those who joined the initiative: "I am assimilating it all. It is difficult for me to say that I have been left speechless. But the only thing I can think about now is everything that my family had to go through so that I could be a free person," he indicated.
Finally, the singer of "Don't Stop the Party" and "International Love" admitted: "Being able to pursue my dream and be on a stage like this representing all the Baldies in the world... this is priceless. There is no way to say thank you. There are no words to express what I feel right now."
