The Colombian star sealed an alliance with the Fundana organization to provide direct assistance to children affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela
In the midst of the emergency that Venezuela is going through after the double earthquake on June 24, Colombian singer Karol G stepped forward to lead a humanitarian effort to benefit the most vulnerable victims.
Through her charity organization, the Con Cora Foundation, the Paisa artist announced a solidarity initiative in alliance with Fundana, a renowned Venezuelan non-governmental organization dedicated for decades to the protection of children at risk.
The “Provenza” interpreter used her social networks, specifically her Instagram stories, to make visible the delicate situation faced by hundreds of children in Venezuelan territory. With the purpose of channeling immediate help, Karol G shared direct links to collect financial donations aimed at mitigating the impact of the natural disaster.
After the tragedy in Venezuela, thousands of children separated from their families or completely orphaned.
The double earthquake in Venezuela, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, wreaked havoc in several regions of the country. The latest reports from the Venezuelan authorities raise the toll of the tragedy to 1,450 dead and more than 3,150 injured.
Likewise, there are at least 12,700 affected people, among whom the child population is the one that suffers most severely from the shortage of basic supplies, shelter and psychological care.
The rescue and debris removal work enters its fourth consecutive day with special emphasis on the state of La Guaira, identified as ground zero of the disaster, where the structural collapse of at least a hundred buildings was recorded.
In addition to Karol G, other Colombian superstars such as Shakira have also actively joined the support campaigns, disseminating lists of allied foundations operating in the affected area.
