About the series plot
The plot unfolds in a seemingly retirement community located in New Mexico, also called “The Boroughs,” where residents are promised “the time of their lives.”
However, for Sam Cooper, a newcomer played by Alfred Molina, this paradise soon becomes a prison. Everything changes when, after a terrifying nighttime encounter, Sam discovers that something monstrous lurks behind the pristine cul-de-sacs of the neighborhood. Dismissed by the authorities as a confused old man, Sam finds unexpected allies in a group of local misfits: a witty ex-journalist, a spiritual seeker, a cynical music manager, and a brilliant doctor with no options. Ignored and underestimated by all, these unlikely heroes must join forces to unravel the dark truth hidden at the heart of The Boroughs… before time runs out.
