BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta joins an all-party delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi to promote India’s anti-terrorism stance across five nations, reinforcing the country’s commitment to global peace and security.
In a significant diplomatic initiative, BJP Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta (Retd.) has joined an all-party delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi. The delegation is set to visit five nations—Russia, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, and Latvia—to convey India’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and to strengthen international cooperation on this critical issue.
Bringing India’s Message to the World
Captain Chowta, a first-time MP and a former Army officer, expressed his honor in representing India on this global platform. “As someone who has served in the Security Forces, it is an honour and privilege for me to take Bharat’s message across the nations I am going to,” he stated. Emphasizing India’s clear stance, he added, “The PM has stated that trade and talks cannot go together. India is very clear on its position.”
He further highlighted the challenges posed by Pakistan, noting, “Pakistan is trying to create a narrative that we are going to burst. We are firm on our resolve to fight against terrorism emanating from Pakistan.”
Operation Sindoor: A Unified Diplomatic Effort
This delegation is part of a broader initiative known as Operation Sindoor, wherein India has dispatched seven all-party delegations to over 30 countries. The aim is to present a united front against terrorism and to engage with global partners on enhancing security cooperation. The delegations comprise members from various political parties, reflecting India’s collective resolve to address the menace of terrorism.
Group 6, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi, includes members such as SP MP Rajeev Rai, NC MP Mian Altaf Ahmad, BJP MP Brijesh Chowta, RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, and former diplomats Manjeev S. Puri and Jawed Ashraf. This group’s mission is to engage with counterparts in Russia, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, and Latvia, discussing strategies to counter terrorism and promote peace.
Strengthening International Partnerships
The delegation’s visits aim to reinforce India’s bilateral relations with these nations, focusing on collaborative efforts to combat terrorism. Discussions are expected to cover intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism strategies, and measures to prevent the spread of extremist ideologies. By engaging directly with foreign governments, India seeks to build a global consensus on the need for a concerted approach to eliminate terrorism.
Domestic Support and Political Unity
Captain Chowta’s participation has been lauded by political leaders across the spectrum. BJP Dakshina Kannada district president Sathish Kumpala remarked, “Capt Chowta’s selection is very appropriate, as he served the nation in the Army. Our country’s military demonstrated India’s strength to the entire world by eliminating terrorists hiding in Pakistan, showing that the New India is.”
This initiative underscores the Indian government’s commitment to a bipartisan approach in addressing national security concerns, ensuring that the fight against terrorism transcends political affiliations.
Looking Ahead: A Global Call to Action
As the delegation embarks on its mission, the international community watches closely. India’s proactive stance serves as a call to action for nations worldwide to collaborate in eradicating terrorism. By sharing experiences, intelligence, and best practices, countries can work together to create a safer, more secure global environment.
Captain Chowta’s involvement symbolizes the integration of military experience into diplomatic efforts, bringing a unique perspective to the discussions. His insights are expected to enrich the dialogues and foster deeper understanding among international partners.
India’s deployment of all-party delegations to advocate its anti-terrorism stance marks a significant step in its foreign policy. Through these engagements, India aims to build stronger alliances, promote peace, and reaffirm its position as a responsible global player committed to the eradication of terrorism.
Captain Brijesh Chowta’s role in this initiative highlights the importance of unity, experience, and dedication in addressing complex global challenges. As the delegations carry India’s message to the world, they embody the nation’s resolve to stand firm against terrorism and to work collaboratively towards a more peaceful future.
