Right now the fog is going to bother you in the morning and evening for a few days. The weather will remain cold and cold winds will increase the miseries of the people. Due to cloudy sky during the day the night temperature may increase slightly. It is estimated that by January 10 the minimum temperature may rise to eight degrees. While the maximum temperature is expected to remain stable. Passengers are facing difficulties at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station as many trains are running late due to cold wave.
Coldest morning in Delhi in five years
The melting cold continues in North India. The lowest temperature of this season was recorded in many districts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and UP on Friday. The minimum temperature in the national capital dropped three degrees below normal to 3.9 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest temperature in the last five years. At the same time, due to fog, 200 trains coming to Delhi were delayed by up to six hours. While more than 500 flights were affected. According to the Meteorological Department, it reached near zero in many areas of Punjab-Haryana. The mercury in Amritsar, Punjab was 1.4 degrees, while in Bathinda it was recorded at 2 degrees. The lowest temperature in Narnaul of Haryana was 2.2 degrees, Hisar was 2.6 degrees and Jhajjar was 3.1 degrees Celsius. Most parts of these two states also remained under the grip of dense fog. At the same time, minimum mercury of minus one degree Celsius was recorded in Mount Abu, Rajasthan on Friday. On Thursday it was minus three degrees Celsius. Due to this, a light layer of snow was seen at many places in this famous tourist destination.
Cold day like situation will remain in Uttarakhand for four days
There will be a cold day like situation in some districts of the state from today for the next four days. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, cold winds along with dense fog are expected in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital and Haridwar districts till December 16.
Red alert in Punjab
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of fog in Punjab for Saturday and orange alert for the next three days. According to the alert, there will be extremely dense fog along with cold wave in Punjab. Cold day conditions will also persist. Especially severe cold wave has been predicted on Sunday. According to the department, the weather will remain dry in the coming days but the minimum temperature may drop further.
Red alert in Haryana also
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of dense fog and severe cold day in eight cities in Haryana for Saturday. These include Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Mewat and Palwal cities. There is orange alert in other cities. Meteorologist Dr. Chandramohan said that there are chances of severe cold for the next 4-5 days. There is no possibility of change in the minimum temperature for the next four days. After that some relief may be available.
