Himachal Pradesh Election 2022: For the assembly elections going to be held in Himachal Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called a big meeting to finalize the names of the party candidates. BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting was convened at the party headquarters in Delhi on Tuesday. In this meeting, the matter of stamping the names of the candidates for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections is coming to the fore.
PM Modi also attended the meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the first meeting of the newly appointed Central Election Committee of BJP convened today. Along with this, all the members of the Central Election Committee including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Organization General Secretary BL Santosh, former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa attended this meeting.
Finalization of names of candidates for all 68 seats
According to media reports, if sources are to be believed, in this important meeting of BJP, the names of candidates can be finalized on all 68 seats of Himachal Pradesh. Other members of the BJP's Central Election Committee include former MP Satyanarayan Jatiya, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonawal, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, senior leader Om Mathur, Rajya Sabha members K Laxman, Iqbal Singh Lalpura and Sudha Yadav. Apart from these, Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Himachal BJP President Suresh Kashyap also attended the meeting.
Himachal unit's core group also met in Delhi
Earlier, initiating the process of finalizing the names of BJP candidates for the Himachal elections, a meeting of the core group of the party's Himachal unit was held at Haryana Bhawan on Monday. In which many senior leaders including CM Jai Ram Thakur, former CM Prem Kumar Dhumal, Anurag Thakur attended. After this, late evening all these leaders met BJP President JP Nadda and Amit Shah to discuss the names of the candidates.
Elections will be held in Himachal on November 12
Assembly elections are to be held in Himachal Pradesh on November 12. At the same time, the counting of votes will take place on December 8. Let us tell you that BJP has 43 members and Congress 22 members in Himachal Pradesh. Whereas, there are 2 independent members and one member of CPI(M) in the house. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also making efforts to register its presence in the state.
