Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Yadav, former CM Rabri Devi and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav reached Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court. The court had summoned him in the alleged land-for-jobs scam case. All three are scheduled to appear today in this connection. Earlier in the last hearing, the court had issued summons to all the 17 other accused including the RJD supremo, his wife and son Tejashwi. The court had directed all the accused to appear on October 4.

Lalu, Rabri and their daughter Misa Bharti are on bail in the case. These three were made accused in the first charge sheet in the case. Then CBI filed a new charge sheet and made Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav also an accused. Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav is accused of having the registry of those properties in his name, which Lalu Yadav had got people to register in return of giving them jobs when he was the Railway Minister.

Vijay Singla, nephew of Pawan Bansal, who was the Railway Minister in the UPA government, has also been accused of another scam related to railway recruitment.

In this case too, CBI has registered an FIR against 10 people including Vijay Singla. Vijay Singla is also accused of money laundering in this case.

Between 2004 and 2009, Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister in the UPA government. It is alleged that a scam took place in railway recruitment when Lalu was the Railway Minister. It is being said that land and plots were taken from the applicants in exchange for providing them jobs.

CBI, after investigating this matter, registered a case against Lalu Prasad Yadav and his daughter Misa Bharti. It is alleged that the lands which were taken were also taken in the name of Rabri Devi and Misa Bharti.

The IRCTC case is different from the railway recruitment scam. The allegation of IRCTC scam is also related to Lalu being the Railway Minister in 2004. In fact, at that time the Railway Board had completely handed over the services of railway catering and railway hotels to IRCTC. During this time, there were reports of irregularities in the tender issued for the maintenance, operation and development of BNR Hotels of Ranchi and Puri.

This tender was won by a private hotel Sujata Hotel in 2006. It is alleged that the owners of Sujata Hotels in return gave three acres of land in Patna to the Lalu Yadav family, which was benami property. In this case also many people including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav are accused.
