Samajwadi Party has declared Dimple Yadav as its candidate for Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election. The party announced the name of Dimple Yadav on Thursday. In this way, Dimple Yadav will be seen carrying forward the political legacy of her father-in-law Mulayam Singh Yadav.
There was talk of making former MP Tej Pratap Yadav a candidate for this seat. At the same time, the name of Dimple Yadav was also running for the candidature. Today the name of Dimple Yadav was announced by the party's state president Naresh Uttam Patel.
Former SP MP Tej Pratap Yadav was being seen as a candidate for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. But, many senior party leaders want to field former MP Dimple Yadav. In this regard, he had also conveyed his opinion to the senior leaders of the party.
These people argue that Akhilesh Yadav is not contesting from Mulayam Singh Yadav's seat. In such a situation, it would be the right decision to field Dimple Yadav. His being in the election fray will directly connect with the voters. Meanwhile, former minister Alok Shakya has been made the new district president of Mainpuri of SP. This is being told as a big step of SP. The Shakyas are experienced and have a strong hold in their community.
Dimple Yadav has previously been the MP of Kannauj. Dimple has completed her studies from Bathinda, Pune and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He completed his graduation in the Faculty of Commerce from Lucknow University. At the age of 21, Dimple Yadav was married to Akhilesh Yadav. In the year 2009, Dimple Yadav had to face defeat against Raj Babbar during the by-election to the Firozabad Lok Sabha constituency. In the year 2012, Dimple Yadav was elected MP from Kannauj constituency during the Lok Sabha by-elections.
