Navigator is America's answer to the Global Positioning System (GPS).Navik will be used in terrestrial, air and sea transportation, location-based services, personal mobility, resource monitoring, surveying and geodesy, scientific research, time dilation and emergencies.

20 minutes after launch, the rocket will place the satellite in the Geostationary Transfer Orbit at an altitude of about 251 km.
Indigenous navigation system 'Navik' will ensure continuity of services
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has completed preparations to launch the navigation satellite 'Navik' from the Geostationary Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). Scientists started the 27.5-hour countdown for the satellite to be launched on Monday at 7.12 am on Sunday. Navigator is America's answer to the Global Positioning System (GPS). Navik (India's indigenous navigation system) will ensure continuity of services.
The satellite, similar to a GPS, will provide real-time position and timing services over an area of about 1,500 km around India and the mainland. The navigator is designed such that the signal can provide a user position of better than 20 meters and a timing accuracy of better than 50 nanoseconds.
It is used in terrestrial, air and maritime transport, location-based services, personal mobility, resource monitoring, surveying and geodesy, scientific research, time dissemination and life safety alert dissemination. The mission on Monday is the sixth operational flight of GSLV with the indigenous cryogenic stage. According to ISRO, the mission life of NVS-01 is expected to be more than 12 years. agency

Navik SPS signals are interoperable with American Global Navigation Satellite System signals, GPS, GLONASS from Russia, Galileo from the European Union and BeiDou from China.
Will be installed at 20 minutes of launch
The 51.7 meter tall GSLV carrying NVS-01 navigation satellite will lift off from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Center in its 15th flight. About 20 minutes after launch, the rocket will place the satellite in Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) at an altitude of about 251 km.
The NVS-01 navigation payload operates in L1, L5 and S bands. The L1 navigation band is popular for providing positioning, navigation and timing services for civilian users and for providing interoperability with other GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) signals.
Indigenously developed rubidium atomic clock used for the first time
According to ISRO, this will be the first time an indigenously developed rubidium atomic clock will be used in a launch. According to the space agency, scientists previously used imported rubidium atomic clocks to determine the date and location. Now there will be a rubidium atomic clock developed at the Space Applications Center in Ahmedabad. Only a few countries have this important technology.
