Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 'Sankalp Saptah', a week-long program for aspirational blocks at Bharat Mandapam today. This is linked to the effective implementation of the Aspirational Block Program (ABP). The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) gave this information.
The nationwide program was launched by PM Modi on January 7, 2023. It aims to improve administration at the block level to enhance the quality of life of citizens. It is being implemented in 500 aspirational blocks of 329 districts of the country. To implement the Aspirational Block Program and prepare an effective block development strategy, brainstorming camps were organized at village and block level across the country. ‘Sankalp Week’ is the result of these thinking camps. About 3,000 panchayat and block level public representatives and officials from across the country will participate in the inaugural program at Bharat Mandapam. Apart from this, around two lakh people including block and panchayat level officials, farmers and individuals from other sectors will join the program virtually.
Different theme every day
In the ‘Sankalp Saptah’, celebrated from October 3 to October 9, 2023, each day is dedicated to a specific development theme on which all the aspirational blocks will work. The themes of the first six days include ‘Complete Health’, ‘Well-Nourished Family’, ‘Sanitation’, ‘Agriculture’, ‘Education’ and ‘Prosperity Day’. On the last day of the week i.e. October 9, 2023, the work done during the entire week will be celebrated as ‘Sankalp Week – Concluding Ceremony’.
