Kitchens sold at Best Buy recalled due to fire risk
The voluntary recall of “Insignia” brand stainless steel gas ranges covers at least 3,820 units, CPSC reports
This week, through a statement, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) informed the population about the voluntary recall of at least 3,820 Insignia gas stoves with front controls.
According to the regulatory entity's report, the recalled product was sold in the stores of the Best Buy retail chain in the United States and a batch of 700 of these units was also sold in Canada with prices ranging between $280 and $1,470.
According to the report, the CPSC indicated that, although no cases of injured users have been reported so far, a report was filed from a customer, who detailed that one of the knobs on his stove was activated by accidental contact, which could cause a fire risk.
In this regard, customers who have the front-mounted five-knob stainless steel ranges with the “Insignia” label on the bottom of the oven door and corresponding to the model numbers: NS-RGFGSS1 and NS-RGFCGS2 should stop using them and report them.
Best Buy, for its part, also suggests customers keep children away from the kitchen controls, as well as making sure that, before leaving the house or sleeping, the controls are turned off to avoid any risk of fire. For more information about the recall of this appliance, customers should contact Best Buy at 800-566-7498 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. m. to 5 p.m. m. (hora central) de lunes a viernes.
