All of them have been victims of spurious liquor, although in most cases the police is still investigating. It is to be noted that among the 24 people who lost their lives suspiciously between August 1 and August 12, people from Panapur, Makar and Marhaura are included. On the night of August 1, 8 people were suspiciously ill in Ramdaspur village of Panapur block. Two of these people died the very next day on August 2. One of the deceased was cremated in a hurry while the post-mortem of the other was done after much effort. A youth who sold liquor was arrested.

After the death on August 2, the matter had not even cooled down that till then on August 4, 11 deaths one after the other in Bhatha village of Makar block had raised the ears of the police administration. At the same time, two deaths were also reported in the adjacent Sonho due to drinking alcohol during worship in Bhatha village. While more than half a dozen people became seriously ill.

On the evening of August 11, once again in Bhualpur of Marhaura, more than a dozen people became suspiciously ill after drinking spurious liquor. One of which died on Thursday evening itself. Whereas the death of six people on Friday has once again raised many questions.

The investigation into the cause of suspicious death in Bhualpur of Marhaura is still going on. Villagers say that everyone had consumed alcohol on Thursday evening. A young man had died the same evening. After the death of a total of seven people, now the matter of the eighth death is also coming to the fore.
