In a tweet, Tharoor said, "While understanding the humanitarian concerns behind the resolution, I fully agree with India's objections that prompted its boycott." Know what is the matter?
In fact, a resolution was brought in the United Nations which said that humanitarian aid organizations should be exempted from sanctions regimes so that any organization or organization can raise money and help people in times of disaster or crisis. But India opposed the proposal, saying that blacklisted terrorist groups, including those in its neighbours, have taken full advantage of such opportunities and raised funds using the UN Security Council resolution. Fighters have also been recruited. India was the only member that refused to support the resolution. While all the other 14 members of the Council voted in favor of the resolution.
What was India's side?
Indirectly referring to Pakistan and the terrorist organizations present on its soil, Council President and India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj said that the passing of this Council's resolution would give immunity to many terrorist organizations as all these humanitarian aid Raises money in the name of and spends to promote terrorists. All these terrorist organizations will declare themselves as humanitarian organizations by creating a charity so that they can get relaxation in the ban and fund heavily for the terrorists. Kamboj also mentioned the terrorist organizations present in Pakistan. He said in an apparent reference to the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (Jamaat-ud-Dawa) that there have been several cases of terrorist groups in our neighbourhood, including terrorist groups listed by this council.
